CINA. Il New Century Global Center di Chengdu, in Cina, è stato inaugurato pochi giorni fa ed è l’edificio più grande del mondo. È lungo 500 metri, largo 400 e alto 100. La struttura è fatta di vetro, cemento e acciaio: è grande, complessivamente, 1,76 milioni di metri quadrati, cioè circa tre volte il Pentagono e venti volte l'Opera di Syndey. Il precedente record apparteneva al Terminal 3 dell'aeroporto di Dubai, negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. Il New Century Global Center è un edificio commerciale. Quando i lavori all’interno saranno completati, ci saranno uffici, ristoranti, un albergo, un cinema, una pista di pattinaggio sul ghiaccio e un enorme parco acquatico al centro della struttura, con una spiaggia artificiale di 5 mila metri quadrati costruita davanti a una piscina di acqua salata. All'interno è stato costruito anche un impianto di illuminazione che vuole ricreare l'effetto di un sole artificiale. Circa un quarto della superficie totale, 400 mila metri quadrati, sarà occupata da negozi.  È stato inaugurato il 28 giugno scorso e per costruirlo ci sono voluti tre anni
