CABANATUAN. È salito a 39 il bilancio delle vittime causate dal passaggio sulle Filippine del tifone Koppu, rendono noto oggi le autorità locali. Koppu ha causato l'evacuazione di oltre 100.000 persone e distrutto le risaie pronte per il raccolto. Diversi i dispersi, con oltre 500.000 persone complessivamente colpite dal tifone. Koppu ha sferzato ieri la principale isola di Luzon e ha raggiunto stamattina il canale di Balintang, con venti fino a 55 chilometri orari. La zona è sommersa dal fango.
