Da Chicago a New York, da Seattle a Washington. Non si placa la rabbia dopo la decisione del Gran Giurì di non incriminare il poliziotto che ha ucciso un ragazzo di colore. Obama: "Non è solo un problema di Ferguson, ma di tutti gli Stati Uniti"
FERGUSON. A Ferguson, a Chicago e a New York a Washington, a Baltimora, San Francisco, Seattle e molte altre grandi città americane, centinaia di migliaia di persone sono scese in strada per la seconda notte di seguito, bloccando ponti, tunnel e autostrade per protestare contro la decisione del Gran Giurì di non incriminare l'agente che ad agosto ha ucciso il diciottenne nero Michael Brown. A Ferguson, dove il governatore del Missouri Jay Nixon ha fatto affluire i rinforzi per la Guardia Nazionale, la tensione è altissima e già in serata alcune persone sono state arrestate.

A New York una folla si è riunita nel tardo pomeriggio a Union Square e, scandendo il nome Michael Brown e slogan come «un distintivo non è una licenza di uccidere», ha iniziato a marciare, arrivando fino al Lincoln Tunnel e bloccandone l'entrata per una ventina di minuti. Bloccate anche diversi altre arterie della città, mentre diverse persone sono state arrestate. A Washington, un gruppo di manifestanti hanno inscenato un 'die-in', sdraiandosi in terra e fingendosi morti davanti ad alcune stazioni di polizia, per quattro minuti e mezzo. «Per simboleggiare le quattro ore e mezza che Michael Brown è rimasto sull'asfalto dopo essere stato ucciso», ha spiegato uno di loro. A Boston i manifestanti si sono diretti verso l'autostrada, bloccando le rampe di accesso alla Massachusetts Avenue.
E ancora, manifestazioni in centro ci sono state anche a Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Seattle, Atlanta e Chicago, dove oggi era peraltro in visita il presidente. In un intervento nella sua città, Obama ha ripetuto che «il problema non è solo un problema di Ferguson, è un problema dell'America». E se una parte della comunità americana non si sente benvenuta o trattata equamente, ha detto ancora, la cosa mette tutti a rischio. E condannando le violenze della notte di lunedì a Ferguson ha affermato che «dare fuoco ad edifici, bruciare auto, distruggere proprietà» sono reati che devono essere perseguiti. Tuttavia, ha anche detto, «le frustrazioni che abbiamo visto non sono solo per un particolare incidente, hanno radici profonde in molte comunità».
«Mi dispiace molto, per la perdita di una vita, ma ho fatto semplicemente il mio lavoro». Così l'agente Darren Wilson nella prima intervista alla ABC News, di cui sono state rese note alcune anticipazioni, dopo la decisione del Gran giurì di non incriminarlo per la morte del 18enne nero, Michael Brown.
